Meeting Tiberius – Expanded Version

Short story Meeting Tiberius has now been republished here, in a revised and expanded version. It tells the story of how Gaius embarked on one of his most important and formative relationships that make him into the person we will meet in Gaius and Achilles, set perhaps six years after the events of this story.

This story offers a glimpse into the highly competitive yet also brilliant, diverse and creative Rome of the final decades of the Republic. It is also about the development of a new personal relationship and the struggle for self-definition.
